Dear fellow food lovers!

This is not a blog about the art of fine dining. Neither is it going to be a 5 star Michelin recipe treasure trove. I cook, because I like cooking, and I like food. Real honest food that doesn’t just look like an architectural masterpiece on a plate and comes in portions the size of chihuahua.

Here, you will find hearty, homely, and satisfying food that is made with love. That extra special ingredient!

I never actively learned to cook, really. Not even from my mum, grandma, or aunt. I just kind of hung around when they were cooking a lot, and a good few years later, I suddenly realized that I remembered what to put together in order to make the dishes that I used to love when I was younger. And then I realized, that I like putting tastes together in my head to see if they fit. So I would be on the train to work, or walk into town, and mellow over what things I could combine in order to make dinner for that day. And, more often than I should admit to, I would google images of food and make my own list of what I thought should go into it in order to make it taste good. No, I didn’t read the recipes!

A lot of the things that I tend to make are German or Mediterranean inspired. Especially Greek food, because authentic Greek food is ridiculously tasty, in case you hadn’t noticed! Not the restaurant stuff, although I’m not saying all of it is bad, but you can’t beat honest home cooking! So there will be lentil soup coming up, but damn tasty lentil soup!

The rest of what I cook? No idea. It just kinda happens. And then things like chicken and chickpea casserole with honey and apricots comes out. Because, you know, I really did like the food in Tunisia when I went there on holiday as a kid.

I am not a great maker of cakes or sweets. Sometimes I do indulge, but the majority of my cooking is focused on main meals. Most of which tend to accidentally end up being plentiful enough to feed an army, but better too much than not enough!

So there you have it. That’s me and my cooking and why I decided to come here and spam the internet with it. If you feel like poking your head around the corner sometime, you’re more than welcome!
